I know this is easier said than done for most people but I think using a credit card in emergencies ONLY is the best way to manage credit card debts. If you need to make household repairs, repair your car or replace your washing machine or fridge freezer then a credit card is handy to use in these circumstances and cheaper than any pay-day loan. Just make sure you repay the debt as soon as you possibly can... I agree - the best money sacving option is to avoid credit cards altogether.
